Paragraph #8—-My Career Goal

Paragraph #8

 My Career Goal

My ultimate career goal is I can be a good lawyer.I have tried several different jobs, but I like the job of lawyer. Therefore, I made a decision to go in for legal services and have worked as an assistant lawyer more than ten years.I like this occupation because there are two reasons. First, I can use my knowledge of the law to help people. For example, there was one of my cases which about one hundred depositors started a suit to a bank for trying to get back their deposit. In fact, it was not an easy case because the three bank clerks in the branch of the bank cheated to our clients for stealing the deposit to play their stocks. The clerks only sealed the bank’s stamp in some customers’ receipts, but other the clerks did not. Thus, some customers who they hold the receipts but not seal the bank’s stamp were impossible to get back their money in law. Therefore, they have already lost the first trial. However, at the second trial, I gave a suggestion to the lawyers of our law firm. My idea was that we collected all the receipts which included the receipts have been sealed the bank’s stamp or not; then we put all receipts in order follow the receipts’ number; afterwards, we found two experts to prove the sealless receipts and the sealed receipts were sourced from a same receipt book of the bank. Finally, the high court accept our evidence and legal opinion, sentenced the three clerks into jail, adjudged our clients won the case and can get back their hare-earned money from the bank. After that, every time I use my legal knowledge to help people could make me feel satisfied, and it can uphold justice sometimes. Second, if I could be a lawyer, I would earn a lot of money actually. For instance, the lawyer bonus is often from ten percent to fifty percent depended on the difficulty level of case. Consequently, lawyers would get their good income after they won a case. In brief, I hope my dream would come true at once; I can be a successful lawyer in the future.

Paragraph #9

Education Systems between China and Korea

Yesterday, I had a nice conversation with Chaiel who he is a Korean and one of my classmates in writing class. We talked about the education systems between China and Korea. After that, we found a lot of similarities but some differences. First of all, there are many similar education systems in our respective country. For example, the students in both countries will spend same time in school. They are required to attend school at least twelve years, spend nine hours per day at school, and have about three months vacations in one year. Moreover, teachers and teaching styles are very similar too. For instance, teachers at least get bachelor’s degree, the classroom atmosphere is very formal, students have to sit at desks not at tables, teachers grade students depend on their test score, and students just listen and answer questions asked by the teacher. On the other hand, there are a few different education systems between our countries. First, Korean students just have a same teacher for each subject in elementary school, but Chinese students do not. Second, Chinese students have to take exams to pass into the next grade, but Korean student do not. Third, Chinese students have to wear uniforms from elementary school to high school, but Korean students just do it from middle school to high school. In conclusion, although China and Korea both belong to Asia and are deep affected by Confucianism, they still have some different education systems.

 Amazing News

According to the article “Cleveland Museum Shares In Major New Discovery About Human Evolution” by the website I found, it is a great discovery that the evolution of human beings are different from what we knew before. That is, “ancient human who could both climb trees like an ape and walk upright like a human” has been found by researchers of Cleveland’s Museum of Natural History and announced to the public at the same time. This is the proof for scientist to show us what they believed that it was an early human ancestor remains—the evidence of finding “Ardi”—4.4 million years ago with 4 feet tall and weighed about 100 pounds. Compared to our “famous ancient human skeleton”—Lucy, new “Ardi” was a million years older than her. I chose this article because it has been always my interests to following the latest great founds of science. Therefore, this is an exciting news to share to who also loves science as I do. For my understanding of this news, I fell it might get more and more evidences out from researching later to tell us about where exactly we come from or what we made of. In this era of when we are in, it is just one of the footsteps to the final prize.

Paragraph #6

How To Be a Good Teacher

Every one knows children are our hope for the future. Therefore, every country has to spend much money and manpower on children’s education. However, good teachers are very important in our education system. Thus, to be a good teacher one must have many good qualities. At first, a good teacher has to have enough knowledge to teach his or her students. So, many schools need teachers to show their higher education degree when they apply for a teaching job. Second, a good teacher needs to know how to teach his or her students. It is also important. For example, a teacher has a doctor degree, but the students still cannot learn anything from him because he does not know how to teach his students. Third, a good teacher needs a sense of humor too. For instance, if a teacher is very humor in class, his or her students will pay more attention on him. It can help him for teaching. To sum up, to be a good teacher is not easy. Teachers must have many good qualities.

 My First Job

I would never forget the first day I got a job because the day was one of my important days in my life. Before this day, I used to study at school or stay at home only. But after the day, I had to get used to do many things whatever I want to do or not. Such as, I was used to getting close with my co-workers; I had to get used to stand many hours; I need to get used to face the pressure from work; I must get used to endure the blame from my boss, clients or co-workers; and I was getting accustomed to get up earlier and go to work on time. Although I have been tired from that time, I had to get used to it. Therefore, I cannot forget my first job.

  1. This week, I try to use the passive when I wrote paragraphs and reading journals.
  2. Sometimes, I think punctuation makes me confuse. I am not sure how to use it. For instance, comma and semicolon. Christina, if it is possible, could you teach us about that.

A Few Chinese Customs

There are many particular chinese customs that the foreigners should aware before they decide to visit. At first, chinese culture is more conservative than others, especilly for women. Therefore, when you go to China, you should remember to do not hug or touch any single woman to show your appreciation but only to say “Thank you!” in words. Second, there are very strict rules for people who attend to weddings and funerals. Such as, only ware black or white in funerals but red or any fresh colors; and on the contrary, only ware red but no other colors for brides and fresh colors for guesses. Third, as a traditional chiese host, he/she will only pours three quarters cup of teas to show his/her respect and pours a full cup for wines to show welcome. The reason for this is that elders believe if do it in an opposite way means teasing guesses. Well, there are still many other interesting customs in different regions of China. However, it is all inherited from the “Confucianism”based on the understanding of “humbleness”﹑ “sincerity”and “formality”.

Water Has Found On The Moon

Today, I have a good news to tell everybody that a form of water has been found on the moon. The article “Surprise! What Found On Moon’s Surface”, from the website of NPR, by Nell Greenfieldboyce, explains that there are some new evidences have been gathered from three different space probes. According to the new evidences, scientists can infer the moon’s surface contains a form of water. But the water’s form of existence is very different from our planet’s water because it has completely different chemical structure. Thus, NASA has a mission to prove above theory next month. So we will get more good news soon. I chose this article because I am interesting science especially in new discovery. After I read this news, it has beaten my brain to think more about our earth and universe. For instance, there is no any life on the moon right now, but some life forms maybe will appear hundred years later since human being’s first step launched on the moon.
